Pakistan shoots down Indian drone

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan army says it has shot down an Indian drone in Rakhchari Sector along the Line of Control (LoC).

In a message on micro-blogging website Twitter today (Saturday), DG ISPR Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa said that the Indian Quad Copter was shot down by own Aagahi Post in Rakhchakri Sector. The Indian unmanned surveillance copter had intruded 60 meters in Pakistani side of Line of Control.

It fell near own Agahi Post and taken over by the armed force.

This comes a day after Pakistan’s navy said it had pushed an Indian submarine away from Pakistani waters.

Earlier in the day, four children were killed and three others injured by Indian forces along
 the Line of Control (LOC) in Azad Kashmir

“Two girls and their brother died when mortar shells fired by Indian troops hit their house in Kotli district along the Line of Control (LOC),” Raja Arif Mehmodd, a local administration official, told AFP. A fourth child succumbed to his wounds later.

He said the eldest girl was aged 10 and the youngest girl aged five.

“All belonged to the same family,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani military said Pakistan and Indian border troops exchanged fire across the Line of Control (LoC)in two other sectors on Saturday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

“Indian troops resort to unprovoked firing in Tander and Baroh areas of Bhimber sector today,” said a statement issued by the military adding that no loss of life was reported in the latest exchange of fire.
