Many drone enthusiasts are outdoor enthusiasts. When you’ve invested in a good drone you want to protect it and be able to move about with it easily and comfortably. Here are two products that help with that.

The SCOTTeVEST Q.U.E.S.T. Vest

SCOTTeVEST makes travel clothing. The Q.U.E.S.T. vest is ideal for drone pilots who want to carry carry their accessories with them. This vest has 42 pockets! It has pockets inside of pockets. It has so many pockets that I temporarily lost my wallet . . . which was on me! But you can carry a lot very comfortably. We wore one recently and were loaded with a small drone (we were testing a Dobby but you could carry a Mavic Pro), wallet, extra battery, mobile phone, keys, iPad, and sunglasses. All carried with comfort and convenience. You could also easily carry along extra propellers and a controller (it has a large pocket in the back). The vset has comfort straps that cab be adjusted.

Other features include but are not limited to:
PADPOCKET – oversized interior pocket designed to hold iPad as well as Android tablets, Surface Pro or other large items securely and comfortably
CLEAR TOUCH POCKET – specially engineered pockets that let you see, and use, your touchscreen devices without removing them from your pockets
WRINKLE RESISTANT CLOTHING – fabric specifically engineered to be wrinkle-free and look great no matter how you store it
STOWABLE HOOD – zippered compartment in the collar stows the hood when not in use so you are ready for whatever mother nature has coming

It is amazingly versatile. Part of the challenge / fun is with so many pockets, determining an organizational system that works for you. But there will be one.

We haven’t taken ours off – it’s that convenient. You can buy it from Amazon here.

The Lowepro DroneGuard

Lowepro makes back packs. They have a long history of producing quality camera gear bags and as drones have emerged as a consumer sector, they expanded their product line to include backpacks tailored for drones. Their back packs are light, strong, and durable. We previously tested a DroneGuard Backpack 450 AW. You can find that post here.

Lowepro DroneGuard 450 AW

The DroneGuard is being offered at Amazon with a 25% discount. You can buy it here. This version is ideal for Phantoms and 3DR Solo. Lowepro also makes backpacks for racing drones.

The Complete Guide to Drones

Even enthusiasts will find something of interest in this well written and illustrated guide to drones. It covers everything from flying to building a drone. While some of the product information may not be entirely current, it is still an excellent introduction that provides a comprehensive understanding of drones, how they work and how to use them.

Manufacturers are still struggling to develop a drone that can be easily popped out of the box and into the air. That day has not come. Until it does books like this will have broad value. You can purchase from Amazon here.
